- Made with PDSII (polydioxanone) Monofilament Synthetic Absorbable Suture
- Consists of a plastic tube that is narrowed on one end and scored on the other
- A 42" suture is inserted into the tube, protrudes from the narrowed end, and is swaged to a surgical needle
- The opposite end of the suture is fastened to the second end of the tube
- The scored end acts as the handle and is marked with a colored tape
- PDSII (polydioxanone) Monofilament Synthetic Absorbable Suture is prepared from the polyester, poly (p-dioxanone)
- Polydioxanone polymer has been found to be non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and elicits only a minor tissue reaction during absorption
